His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II (born 6 May 1950) is the 16th Asantehene, the paramount chief of the Ashanti people and one of the most influential traditional rulers in Ghana and Africa. He ascended the Golden Stool in 1999 following the death of his uncle, Otumfuo Opoku Ware II. Born into the royal Oyoko clan in Kumasi as Nana Barima Kwaku Duah, he was educated at the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom, where he studied Human Resource Management and Public Administration. Prior to his enstoolment, he worked in business and human resources in the UK and Ghana, gaining experience in corporate management that he has applied to modernizing aspects of traditional governance.

As Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has championed education through the Otumfuo Education Fund, which has supported thousands of students across Ghana with scholarships and infrastructure.
